The journey begins in Taormina and ends in Palermo, with four nights at the San Domenico Palace and three at Villa Igiea. Between them lie the Greek theatre and the slopes of Etna, the lanes of Ortigia, the temples of Agrigento and the mosaics of Monreale.
Days are unhurried and distances kept sensible. Transfers, guides, reservations and private openings are arranged in advance and held quietly in the background, so that nothing between the two coasts asks anything of you.
The Journey
